Middle East

"The Middle East is a varied region. Steep in history with cultural arabic towns to more internationally developed cities."
Within the Gulf region, there has been heavy investment in developing their cities to offer first rate experiences. From exuberent hotels and shopping malls as well as retaining cultural towns it is a mixture of the old and the new. The availability and low cost of fuel allows cheap travel to experience all sides.
International schooling in this region has experienced some of the fastet growth compared to elsewhere. Despite the large expat populations requiring an international education, local wealthy families see the value of having a British, international or US based curriculum opening opportunties for university education overseas. This in turn has created a demand for suitably experienced teachers to work here from the UK, US and other countries.
In the Middle East, international schools offer some of the more enticing benefits. These include free accommodation, flights, schooling for dependants and of course tax-free salaries. Visas are required and teachers are given assistance with this process from their soon to be employers.
Contracts are often for two years and upon successful completion renewals are usually offered. The academic calendar commences at the end of August and finishes in June time. With it being an Islamic nation, international schools follow these religious festivals.
