Country Profile
Malaysia is made up of two regions, Peninsular Malaysia where you will find the capital Kuala Lumpur and Malaysian Borneo, which is famous for its dense jungle and wildlife. The country shares borders with Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia and is connected to Singapore via two bridges.

'Truly Asia' is the slogan used by the Malaysian tourist board and nowhere epitomises this more than Kuala Lumpur. A real mix of old and new where historic temples and mosques mix with futuristic skyscrapers that reflect the economic and commercial growth within this region.

Across the South China Sea to the Bornean island is where adventure awaits. Images of winding river trails through dense jungle ring true. Here you will experience the nomadic tribal history of Malaysia and witness the natural habitat of elephants and Orangutans.

International Schooling in Malaysia
As with other parts of Asia, Malaysia has witnessed its own economic development. This has resulted from the arrival of international organisations particularly from the banking and oil sectors and in turn attracting an international cohort of employees.

The expat community require a good standard of schooling and often find their children educated alongside local children who see the value in an international education system. International schools typically follow the British or IB curricula.

Teaching in Malaysia is a wonderful way to experience Asia with the comfort of an established expat population. The generous packages offered by employers allows for further travel around the region and teachers find they spend more time outdoors in the much warmer weather. There are also many sporting and recreational activities to take part in.
